
The Legacy Crop Improvement Centre (LCIC) has been named the winner of the GNCCI Koforidua Regional Business Award at the 5th Chamber Business Awards, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The annual awards, organised by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI), celebrate outstanding enterprises that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and impact within their sectors
LCIC’s recognition highlights its pioneering role in promoting agricultural transformation, climate-smart technologies, and sustainable development across Ghana’s Eastern Region and beyond.
In a statement following the award, the management of LCIC expressed profound gratitude to God, describing the honour as “the doing of the LORD.” The Centre dedicated the award to farmers across the country, acknowledging them as “the true pillars of our success.”
“We receive this award with hearts full of gratitude and humility. It is a tribute to our farmers whose trust, resilience, and partnership continue to inspire our mission,” the statement read.
The Centre also extended appreciation to its stakeholders, partners, and staff for their collective contribution toward building LCIC into a “regional powerhouse for climate-smart agricultural excellence.”
The Legacy Crop Improvement Centre reiterated its commitment to advancing innovation and supporting farmers through improved crop varieties, sustainable practices, and agribusiness empowerment.
“Together, we are not just growing crops — we are cultivating a legacy of prosperity, innovation, and hope for generations to come,” the statement added.
